Now that we are approaching August, I am trying to live each day like it’s the last day of summer. That means every day should involve at least one or two of the following: barbecue, pool party, rosaaay, Daisy Dukes and bourbon.

And this weekend my friends and I manage to do all those things.

On Saturday we all head out to dirty jerz for a pool party.

Allstadt is the official grill master.

I may have had two burgers and two hot dogs in the span of an hour. And by “maybe” I mean “yes, definitely.” My guy friend once said that I’m like an ant in that ants can carry up to twenty times their body weight and I can eat up to twenty times my body weight. Tee-hee.

Elissa and co were on their way so I made a special request for rosaaay. Except the rose in the liquor store was pretty ghetto so they brought some white zinfandel. Awwww, yeah, good thing I wore my daisy dukes.

We take a respite from grilled meat to play with the new iphone.

Niki is in a food coma.

Allstadt announces he has beaten my record by eating 4 burgers and 4 hot dogs. Chris is not impressed.

Josh contemplates the meaning of life and whether or not he should have another burger.

Meredith arrives about 5 hours late.

And gets right down to business.

After hours of bbq and white zinfandel, we decide to move the party indoors and do some karaoke. You think this is a game biatch? This is shark week!

Meredith sings some Flashdance.

George and I sing Like a Virgin.

Still singing Like a Virgin. (I’m saving myself for marriage dontchaknow.)

After karaoke we move back outside for MORE burgers. I think at this point Meredith and I drunk dial Food Marathon and put him on speakerphone. I have no idea what we talked about but I’m sure it was awesome.

Then I pass out. In my wet bikini. Genius.

On Sunday I contemplate going to the MGMT concert at McCarren Pool but it is pouring outside. Good thing I didn’t go because it was pretty packed. (Photo via brooklynvegan)

So instead I stay in Jerz and eat some more. Allstadt makes us BLT & E sandwiches. That’s bacon, lettuce, tomato, and fried egg. Hummana Hummana.

We watch a couple of episodes of Shark Week on Discovery Channel.

Then we head back into the city for Niki’s going away party. The theme was to dress up like dirty hippies because Niki is moving to Boulder.

Chris takes this very seriously and wears a tye dyed shirt. You can’t tell by the pic but his shirt is tucked into his jeans. He’s going for the reformed hippie look.

And then I go home. I may have watched a few more Shark Week shows.

Oh, and I’m off this week (well, technically, not till Wednesday but mentally I am already checked out). Going to Vegas, baby, Vegas.

I get an email from my friends saying something about going to the Playboy Club on our first night there. Whaaa? I am sure this will be a very relaxed, tame weekend. Psych!

And you know what they say. Whatever happens in Vegas gets posted on the Jinius blog!

So stay tuned next week.

Same Jinius place. Same Jinius time.
