One of my favorite things to do is eat in a restaurant alone. I catch up on my reading, order whatever I want, and sip a glass of wine without worrying about hurrying off somewhere or adhering to someone else’s dietary preferences.

Yesterday I had the day off so I went to Cafe Mogador– which is a great restaurant if you’re dining alone. They were playing all sorts of Michael Jackson and Prince songs so I was bopping in my seat while also reading a fascinating article in The New Yorker on Miami Police Chief John Timoney. It seems that I have developed a cop fetish recently. It all started with The Wire and then The Departed. And then one reader was kind enough to email me this article about the French version of Law and Order. Sacre bleu!

In my next life, I’d like to come back and study urban planning along with sociology and reform the way crime is tackled in this country. Oh and if I had time leftover I would totally study figure skating too.

After brunch I walked around soho and nolita and then met up with my roomie and her boyfriend at Rosa Mexicana for margaritas.

And then I came home and had the chance to answer a Q&A for one of my favorite food blogs! You can read it here.
